Can a site administrator delete a site member while also retaining their Forum posts? We're using a Wix website for members of my condo association. People post answers to questions on the Forum or they post a solution to common problems. We want to retain those posts when the person leaves the association and we delete their site membership.
One solution might be for a site administrator to somehow replicate or copy someone's posts within the Forum before deleting their membership, but I haven't figured out how to do that. Ideally, the post would stay in the Forum even if the author's name goes away.
Suggestions?
Thanks Greta! For now, we're going to have a website content administrator review a person's forum postings before removing their site membership. The admin will replicate any forum content that we want to keep.
Hi, @Tom2521, I am sorry for the late reply - I somehow missed your post😬. Goctha. Would you like to hide the identity of the author too? Coz there might be multiple solutions - to hide the identity of the author after deleting him ( +retain his content) OR leave his name with the content, just removing him from your members lists. Unfortunately, now posts/ comments are gone once you delete the member.
Thanks for the reply, Greta. I'm not sure I understand your answer. We're not interested in hiding the identity of the author. We just want to retain someone's post to the Forum after their site membership is revoked -- and we also don't want people who are not members to appear in the membership directory. The only way I know how to remove someone from the member's list (and directory) is to delete their membership/contact record. But when I do this, their Forum posts disappear.
I got you - yes, the content of deleted person disappears. I added your request to the wish list - we'll consider such option.
