Despite the fact that i am subscribed to my forum and have cheked several times all the forum (and blog) email notifications checkboxes, i never received any updates (except for my own blog posts). And the emails aren't going to my spam folder either.
If it is a problem for me, it is for sure a bigger problem for my customers!! Who for sure don't have a working way to stay tuned
Hi Felipe, I am sorry to hear that! We will check this issue.
thanks Greta.

@Felipe Mardones Hi again, Felipe! Please install the Member's App to your site, so your members will have individual profile pages and you will start getting notifications from them.
@Greta Galubauskaitė don't i have a member's area already? I will check it out right away
I have never gotten emails to work for years.
WIX has made the social aspect incredibly obtuse. There are 3 layers of opt ins to get an email notification of a post:
1. Become a Site Member. Does nothing by itself except adds you to the sites list. You have to...
2. "Subscribe" to the site to get anything from the site. No one ever "subscribes" when they register. No other sites have an "opt in subscribe" when you join. A person registers to a site IN ORDER to subscribe. It is not customary to have to click another box. And no, there is no way to edit members en mass to "Subscribe" them.
3. And third, you have to follow either a post or a category. Sure, following is customary, but the option is hidden behind a "dot dot dot". So no, no one ever clicks a dot dot dot. Dumb.
After all this, I still don't get any emails when I post. No members ever do either. It's why I don't bother with the site much.
I am waiting until WIX stops re-inventing the internet and things just start to work. I think they are getting more responsive, but hurry up before you become irrelevant.
Hi, thank you for your insights, we are constantly working on improving your experiences regarding notifications and debugging specific cases if needed. At first, I suggest you to renew your Members app by adding a New Members area.
Let me know if the same issues appear after the said recommendation.
@Greta Galubauskaitė
What is a "New Members" area? You capitalized "New Members" which implies you meant "New Members" is either a formal App or a formal Page of an App. I can't find either anywhere. What is "area"? Did you mean Page?
Did you mean add a Custom Member Signup form?
Did you mean uninstall Members and reinstall Members?
I don't mean to annoy, but truly your answer does not make sense. Be more specific and only capitalize when you are referring to a formal feature of WIX. Or, if you are referring to a specific feature, please tell me what and where a "New Members area" is.
@Bar Keep, a word ''New'' was used with the intention to emphasize the need switch from the Old Forum Member's Page to the New Wix Member's Area. Once you make this change, your members will be transferred automatically and will have individual pages. It will also solve your issues with notifications. Follow the instructions below in order to add a New Member's Area:
1. Click Add on the left side of the Editor.
2. Click the Members tab.
3. Click Add to Site.
If you don't have the New Members' Area, the image in your Add panel should look like in the picture below. If you already have New Member's Area ( in this case you won't see the shown image) and still do not get notifications from your following categories, please write me to my email: gretag@wix.com and we will check this specific case.
I understood your perception about how the forum could or should work.
Thank you for the insights, we will consider them. Have a nice day :)
Thanks for clarifying. It's needed. It turns out there is no Add to Site in my menu. So does that mean I already have the new Members Area app added? I will email you direct.
@Bar Keep @Greta Galubauskaite But if you do that (add the new members area), then you have to uninstall and reinstall the forum. Which in my case at least comes at a huge loss: that would mean redoing many MANY many hours of work, design, code, developer, etc. Unless wix takes responsability (paying fees and compensation) i prefer wix people leave my site the way it was, even without the email notifications (which is less bad than having to re do everything). I will copy below a couple of last email comunications
@Bar Keep was it necessary for you to uninstall and reinstall the forum?
In the last email I received from wix, they say:
"Hi Felipe, I tried to reproduce your site here https://antanasd.wixsite.com/copy-of-economia-sag/foro and I managed to reproduce the forum look (WHICH DOES NOT EVEN LOOK THE SAME!) . However, I see that you have custom top navigation and the new Members area does not have the icon on the top bar to navigate to the members' page. We cannot fix third-party solution such as your top navigation on mobile and advice you to consult with the developer who did the site. Also, since there's no button to go to members' page from the app you can add it on the top navigation bar. Other than that, please let us know if you will need help reinstalling the forum app. Kind regards,"
My reply is as follows:
"Antanas, Greta
I'm not satisfied with the way things are going. The problem is 100% wix responsability. I'm not willing to invest a significant amount of hours to reproduce the way my forum is now. That took us many many MANY hours.
Wix should take responsability and offer a compensation for the damage suffered, and at least pay the fees of my developer (when and if he has a chance to work on my website again).
In the meantime, please leave my website the way it was before
I mean, I never requested to change something, in fact someone at wix did it without my permission in the first place.
So i kindly request you to leave it just the way it was before. And then let me know when you're able to fix the email notifications issue while at the same time avoiding changes in my site and/or taking responsability for leaving the site with the original design (which cleraly involves paying the fees of developer plus damage compensation to myself)
Again, I kindly request you leave my site the way it was before: with the memebers icon as it was in the forum. And without the members ("more") link on the navigation bar. Even if email notifications don't work as they should, that is much better than having to redo all the design involving code etc.

Scary. WIX flies to fast and loose for sure. The pressure to move fast in the world of building internet presence web sties has had a toll on quality since the beginning. Those of us who are more IT astute, need to be vocal just like you are doing here. They need to restore you're older version if they have not already.
I hope they don't screw up something on my site, but it's a political/philosophy site with almost no action. I'd rather get it all up and running correctly before using it more. Not an option for business sites.
My advise for everyone using WIX or any other web presence builder is go SLOW and don't ever do anything custom. Don't ever stray from stock features. Just live with what is solidly working and wait for WIX to formally test and add new features. EMail notifications has huge importance for engaging so they must be looking at it right? In the meantime, stay engaged them on this forum.
we decided to go custom, it was a well thought decision. It mainly has to do with the fact that my work is bilingual (english/spanish). The only other option was to make two different sites but that would mean both world will never encounter each other. So, anyways, that's a main reason for having custom stuff, code etc.
I wouldn't call my work a business either, in a way it is political and philosophical too. It took more than a year to develop it (in every sense of the word) until the moment we publish it.

So I see. Another big thinker!
