Hey everyone. Newbie here and new to this whole experience. Not sure if I will unleash a barrage of questions but certainly if any come to mind I would like to lean on some people who have been there and done that.
First, a little bit about me and my purpose. I do things more as a hobby than a business although if I could ever monetize it that would be nice of course. But I'm me. Not really a business, not really a service or offering services. I may like to do some affiliate marketing for natural health products or something down the road.
Basically, I wanted to create a blog that was away from Facebook because Facebook is getting and has gotten crazy on censorship/fact checks etc. It's frustrating for a lot of us like minded folks who aren't trying to stir up trouble but just trying to share information we feel is important. Disagreements happen in life. No issue there. But in addition to just a blog for me, I also wanted to create a forum for some friends. I have, with several subcategories.
But one quick question to start off. When I want to post something in the forum with a source linked, I can do so if I am on my phone. I can not if I am on my desktop. I don't see the option or kind of "toolbar" at the very top. I have the options at the bottom for videos, gifs, files, etc. I don't have the option to change the font color, bold, italicize, and most importantly link anything. It isn't the end of the world if I have to do it all on my phone. It's just a little more unwieldy and time consuming. I just figured there was a ridiculously easy explanation for it that I am overlooking and thought maybe someone could help.
Hi, @faithwalker012, nice to meet you and welcome! I am Greta, the user researcher for WIX Forums. Indeed, while social media restricts users' communications, forums are completely open.
Now answering your question:
Are we talking now about the DESKTOP? Because you CAN make text colorful/bold or italic. Simply highlight the text until the formatting toolbar appears.
You can also paste a link simply using keyboard shortcuts (like you do in any other tool).
Did you find them?
Thank you Greta. For all my time on the internet I typically haven't used keyboard shortcuts to paste or insert any links. I did look it up and figured out how to do it. Thanks!
