HMTL Editor and embedded Link-content (Buggy)

    in Forum Discussions

I wrote a post yesterday with a lot of pictures in it. I wanted to save some space an didn't upload every picture directly to the Homepage. But the HMTL Editor didn't want to do what i want.

I did upload the pictures to directupload.net. There i got several options to share the pictures.

Firstly i wanted to embed the pictures with a https link, but all comes up was a small stripe.

Next i tryed to embed the pictures with HMTL, but this didn't work too. At last it worked when i use HMTL to show a small previewpicture wich can be clicked and lead to the picture at directupload.net.

Why is it so hard to get some stuff embed in the forum ? Even when it is working, the Wix App doesn't show it. Why can't i just use BBCode ? Or why does it just work as it should ?

I got problems with the HMTL Editor for longer now. I usually put Google Tables/Spreadsheets into the Forum to publish results. It worked relativly fine until some weeks ago. I used the same links as the month before, but all comes up was this small stripe wich doesn't show anything. Everything i put in before was shown as it should. But even if i copy the https link from a working post and put it into a new one it just shows the stripe instead of the spreadsheet.

I contacted the support, but as usual they tried to put the blame away from wix to the creator of the link. Now i'm trying more than 3 weeks to explain what my problem is, and why it must be caused by wix.

I would like to give some examples for the stripe, but HMTL Editor isn't activated in this forum. For good reason ? Maybe i put some screenshots up later.

I hope this time someone can help me. And especially i hope the admins recognize that someone messed up the HMTL Editor some weeks ago (maybe between January and May).

Wix Forum sometimes frustates me. I wouldn't choose it a second time.

I don't know how that should help me, or what you try to tell me with your explanation.

But finally someone found the fault and embed links working again.

I know how to copy and paste a link, but it doesn't show anything but a empty grey field (see 2. post, third picture).

Is there really nobody who can help me ?

I already reported the problem (with Spreadsheets) to Support. I'm struggeling with them now from beginning of June.

    This is the history:

    3. of June

Sending request and receiving automated answer (both german).

    4. of June

Receiving answer in english (because increased traffic).

"Please note that if you paste any info via HMTL iframe we can not guarantee it proper workings, as it is a TPA code."

This comes with the recommendation to use the Google Drive App. But this doesn't fit my needs.

    10. of June

I answered in english and explain my problem again.

    11. of June

Receiving answer that Wix support isn't responsible for external HMTL Code.

    14. of June

Answering that i do not use HMTL but https.

I explained my problem aigan and telling that i want something what has been working since a few weeks/month ago.

    16. of June

Receiving message that my problem is reported to the technical department.

    19. of June

Receiving answer that they cannot recreate my problem. Also they are asking for the code i put in, and how i put it in.

    24. of June

I send links and explained how i put it in.

    25. of June

Receiving answer that they can recreate my problem. Then they told me that the problem was to put in https in the HMTL field, and explained how to put in HMTL Code.

    28. of June

I answered that this is not the solution because the spredsheets are not displayed in a acceptable way (see second picture in second post above). I also put some example screenshots in the email.

    1. of July

Receiving answer that my problem is reported to technical department.

    7. of June

Receiving answer that technical department wants the HMTL code i put in, and how i put it in.

    8. of June

Give myself a big facepalm an explain my problem again - with links, screenshots and the way i copy the links out of Google into the HMTL Editor.

I really despair on this problem. I'm running in circles with support. No one understands me. No one can help me, and wish my old forum back.

Hi. Indeed there was an issue when pasting a URL in the input. It should be fixed now. Please, tell us if you feel something is still wrong. Thanks for your patience.

When everything works it looks like this: https://www.xbr.one/forum/lotus-world-cup/ergebnisse-gesamtwertung-lotus-world-cup

When i use https link it looks like this: https://www.xbr.one/forum/m1-procar-serie-2020/wertung-m1-procar-serie-2020

This is how it looks if i use HMTL script: https://www.xbr.one/forum/classic-dtm-duell/gesamtwertung-classic-dtm-duell

But this above is nothing new. I did use https link because hmtl just shows this small Box.

No. This is exactly what does not work. If you look at the third screenshot in my second post you can see what happens if i enter a https link into the corresponding field. It puts out just a empty gray field.

    My website is xbr.one

    Hi,

It would be best if you could share a link to your site either here or by email to lukask@wix.com. It would help us to find the issue quicker.

In the meantime you could try to embed a Website Address instead of HTML Code by selecting this option:

and pasting a link to the document instead:

    Hope this helps.

    Here are some Examples

First is how it should look, and does look till a few weeks or month ago when i enter https link:

Next is how it looks if i enter HMTL Code. Maximize the width and height does not expand the displayed content. This was also the solution from support:

And last is how it looks if i enter https link now into the corresponding field of HMTL Editor:

As you see, you can see nothing but a empty grey field. The width and height is depending on the regulators from the Editor.
