I have inherited a bit of a garbage dump in the Images section of WIX.
I have started adding folders and organizing our corporate images for the site BUT I don't see an easy way to tell what has been used where.
I would like to cull duplicates and retire dead images as best possible.
Any advice for tools that I might use to make my job easier would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot
Robert
Don't understand
If you just upload images to the wix images folder every time you work on a page then this can result in dumping hundred to thousands of images in the same folder.
It is not possible to tell which images are being used on the site.
There is no traceability, no versioning, no management.
The person before me did not understand that you have to MANAGE a corporate website and simply copied and pasted anything he wanted onto the site with duplicates and images that are not used. Now I have some images that are should be retired, others that should be updated and more that should simply be deleted as I don't need 10 copies of the same image on the site.
When I open the images folder in WIX I cannot simply right click on the image and say what pages is this image used on.
I need to figure out where our images are being used on the site and clean up this mess.
I am trying to make a toy do the job of a tool.
Versioning, Change Control, Traceability.
