I love the forum and use it for connecting my community. However, I find that people are not looking at the posts because they don't get push notifications automatically to their phones when a category they follow gets a new post or comment. We have several moderators, so it's not reasonable for me to create a push notification each time someone creates a post. We have our forum setup on it's own website so that we could use My Mobile App and allow members to download the forum as an app on their phones. In order for our members to see the notification bell icon, they have to open the app. They're just not doing that. Also, the whole purpose of the forum for us is to eliminate email, so enabling email notifications does not satisfy the need. It would be great if the app icon on your mobile home screen would display the notification bell the way facebook or text messages do when there's an unread message.

Wait! You managed to turn a website into an app? How did you do that?
Wix has what's called 'My Mobile App' and you can make your whole website into an app that's downloadable from the app store. We didn't want our whole website made into an app, just the forum, so we created a new wix site with a similar url and made that site into an app. That way people can use the forum as a communication tool. It's perfect! The only thing that isn't working great is the notifications. I have this great tool, but can't get anyone to use it bc they can't see when something new has been posted right away on their phones!
Aaaaah Thanks explaining! Push Notifications sounds like an amazing feature to become implemented! Though I Dont think that that is up to Wix. I think that this is up to the third party developers that made this program. As it is not officially made by Wix, I dont think this is the right place for it to be posted. I think that you should contact the developers of this application Appswiz . You can contact them at their email here support@mymobileapp.online or go straight to their website http://www.mymobileapp.online
I have contacted the support team at My Mobile App and gotten nowhere. They obviously don't have the capacity to conduct customer service at the level Wix does. I contacted them twice regarding this issue and another. Both times it took more than a day to hear back and the representative clearly did not seem to understand the issue. Yes, there is a disconnect between My Mobile App and Wix Forum because they are two different development teams. However, I think if there were some collaboration, both parties would see positive results.
Well Wix did put my recommendation for a Native App on their wish list and are currently working on it. Unfortunately there is not ETA but it is a feature the Wix team said they will be working on.
Hi kstamp18,
As @Lubura said, it is not up to us. This is a third party service and you should contact their support for every issue that you have.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
@kstamp18: you say " Wix has what's called 'My Mobile App' " can you tell me/us where you found that? I mean, is it in the WIX apps? I couldn't find it with a search there. It seems, from other discussion on this thread, that it is a 3rd party app, so I am asking why you say it is on WIX? because I sure would like it myself. thanks.

Apparently it's been temporarily removed. My app is still functioning on my phone, but it doesn't appear you can download the app anymore from your wix dashboard.

Hello @kstamp18, yes it is true that MyMobileApp is not appearing at the AppleStore anymore, because Apple has revised its guidelines for publishing apps thru the commercial templating services. It is the same all over the world with other app services as well. I believe it will take some time for app publishing service providers to find a workaround for these new rules.
