Wix has kept users in dilemma by creating the new blog with its great UI & new features whereas lacking a lot (& I literally mean, a lot of basic) features.
Whereas the same stands true vice versa as well.
There are very few features that both blogs have in common. And a lot of people expect combined functionalities to be used.
Beginners don't want to create a community for their website (this being the main purpose of new blog) but sure, they want the great UI that New Blog provides, but it lacks a lot of basic functionalities.
New Blog lacks (this is what we expect from New Blog):
Adding color to text & text-background
Adding background color
Adding font style
Ability to Schedule Posts (High Priority - for everyone I guess)
Ability to comment & like the post without signing in (High Priority)
Adding image & video from anywhere in between with no need to scroll down every time (High Priority)
Adding HTML code
Custom text size
Adding a divider
Adding link color (The underline thing is going away, people now use their brand color to display the links) - High Priority
Line Spacing
Indent Ability
Ability to remove or add the sign-in thing with our choice
Alt Text in image (High Priority) - helps in SEO
Link on image
If there could be a smiley option (without stress, lowest priority)
Move old blog posts automatically to the New Blog Post (High Priority)
These are all very BASIC THINGS A USER WILL EXPECT FROM ANY BLOG.
Or, let's look at what the old blog lacks:
Very Old UI - Not at all attractive
No like post button
No search button (I really appreciate the search button in New Blog :) )
Quote Option missing (The new Wix blog Quote Option is great, only if they could be colorful)
No number of views
No ability to categorize posts (I have to handle these things manually - through different manual pages & a manually created menu)
Can't show last updated Date
I think Wix Old Blog has been available since a long time, but it does not have some of the advanced features it should have.
I would be happy if I could combine both blogs features & use them to create a great looking post that people would love to read.
None of the blogs is a complete package that a user could be completely satisfied with one.
I keep wondering if I should move to the new blog, but then these LACKS make me back up.
I've paid the full amount to Wix, but I'm not satisfied with my blog. Because it seems like I don't have full control on MY blog. It still depends on Wix, if any update comes - just keep waiting - and the whole year will pass on!
In my opinion, before working on providing new advanced functionalities, like completely customizable Vector Arts & Ability to create a Logo, Wix should provide attention to these BASIC things first. (No one would have complained if there were no vector arts...)
If you try to grab attention of the new visitors by showing these new and attractive functionalities (Creating Logo, etc) at least make sure that they would be happy once they convert into a customer & for those who already are...
Just putting my opinions here, because I am seriously confused with these blogs... I don't like the Old Blog UI, & the new Blog is not up to the mark. I also tried creating custom pages, & then adding those to the blog but they take a lot of effort to get on Google. Gave that up too...
Please help me out here.
Either make the Old Post UI customizable with a few more functionalities as explained above, or add the basic functions to the new blog at priority.

This has become wildly frustrating! On top of all the things you mentioned, there is no feature to port your old blog to the new blog. Does WIX expect us to just trash that? While I agree it looks so much nicer none of these have the functionality I am looking for. If they took all of the features of the old blog with the new look and interface of the new blog we might be on to something. It's really frustrating that they would roll out such a half finished feature.
