I work for a school district that used your site and forum to host about 2000 students in an online discussion of books over the summer. The experience was positive, but it could be greatly improved with four updates (two more urgent requests, two less urgent requests):
More Urgent Updates:
1. Sub-Categories for Sub-Categories: It would be excellent to be able to sort the types of discussion posts into even more specific sub-categories. For instance, the first category would be "12th Grade Books," then "A Man Called Ove" (sub-category #1), then "Chapter One Comments" (sub-category #2). Currently, I am unable to direct conversation to be this specific and organized. Sub-categories for sub-categories would be very helpful.
2. Search Forum Posts by Member Name: We had 2000 students make 5 posts each, totaling 10,000 posts. It became very difficult for teachers and students to find posts specific to each student. It would be very, very, very helpful to be able to search the entire forum for posts made by specific members.
Less Urgent Updates:
3. Communicate the particular category and subcategory in emails alters: Each time a student posts to the forum an email is sent to me. It would be helpful to attach the specific category and subcategory to this alert.
4. An easy way to purge Forums: I am hoping to recycle as much of this site as possible for next year; however, I would need to purge all posts with simple click, rather than deleting posts individually.
I hope you are able to make some of these updates, particularly the more urgent ones, as this would greatly improve the Forum's functionality and success.
