I have a multilingual site, English and Spanish, but there is only a single instance of the forum. This means that I have to choose one language for the forum to appear in.
The forum is the central point of my site, so this is causing a big problem.
I would really like multiple instances of the forum, or for the forum to translate when switching between languages.
Thanks!
Yes this has been an issue for my site as well. I wanted to get away from using facebook for my team so I had planned to implement a private forum for my design team while the open forum would remain for customers/members. I quickly realized I was only allowed one instance of the forum :( So facebook it is for the foreseeable future unfortunately.
Have you tried using private categories of the Forum? It could satisfy the need for your design team.
No I haven't, are private categories password protected?
They are protected based on the roles and/or assigned badges to the site members. For example, you can create separate Role and include members (your employees) - please see below the image.
Then you create a Category and select it to be private - and give permissions to the previously create role Internal Team.
More detailed info you can find on the link https://www.wix-forum-community.com/forum/wix-forum-updates/private-categories-are-here.
Hope you succeed.
Thank you! I will check it out and see if I can make this work for me. 😊
Yes! I am having the same situation and need this feature to come ASAP!
Thanks Venko,
Unfortunately your suggestion does not satisfy my requirement.
The front page of the forum appears only in English currently, so the header text cannot be customised to the language chosen by the user.
I have had to resort to placing text boxes in the margins, one in Spanish and one in English. Not only does this look unprofessional and cluttered, but also is not scaleable should I wish to introduce further languages.
Thanks for your help though!
I really do think this is a baffling omission and hope it will be fixed in the very near future. Forums are a common part of most websites and the ability to edit the main text according to different languages seems to be a basic requirement.
