I've a major concern on the vulnerabilities of Wix Forum to inconsiderate / clueless member. The scenario is this: a member let's say the name is X. X write a new post asking about a topic and that post is being commented by many people with a very good insight to the question. But after several days there are still many people commented on that post. X has got the answer and quite annoyed with the flowing of notifications. Out of annoyance X deleted that post. Surprise! This is when the whole conversation comes to an end! The effort that is being poured in by the community is gone. Not a single trace can be found.
This is why I believe that member should not have the ability to delete posts & comments because they don't have any concern in growing the community, maybe some but not all. But I as the owner of the website has a very big concern on the matter and need to secure it at all costs.
So if they really need to delete their posts or comments, they need to ask the admin or moderator to do so. Perhaps changing the "delete icon" into "report to delete". The icon is pretty similar to report as spam, but the function is to give notice to admin or moderator to delete the posts or comments. A form asking the reason of wanting to delete can be ask whenever they want to report. This will simplified the process.
They still can edit the content of their posts or comments though. But not the title because in Wix Forum the url of post is using the title. So if someone changing the title then the url will be changed. That's not good if the url has been distributed somewhere else, thus will cut the linking. Also it is bad for SEO.
I think this is pretty common feature of other forum platform out there. Freedom of action for anyone is great, but we are talking about my website which was made by me and paid by me. So the site's owner concern is 100% more valid than a plain member.
