Wordpress is Wix’s biggest competitor. They have all of the features we need, but they cost a lot. I support Wix. We need to add on features quickly, though.
These are the top features I can think of:
Verified Members
Private messaging between users
After clicking on a post/category, and going back to the page, go to the SAME place you left off
Allow users to make friends
Tagging users like this @username
Wix Forum Ads REMOVED with the purchase of premium where it says ’remove wix ads’ because currently it’s not accurate or true.
Different Ranks, customisable in name and badge design/ style etc
Display Online Users
Customise the category style, rather than massive shapes
Profile % complete
The ability to add a free bot that automatically deletes any posts with inappropriate media
The ability to stop authors of a post from deleting any comments (its about freedom of speech)
Ability to see which users visit your profile (with or without notifications)
A better username and profile system!!!!!! Currently there are 3 different profile pages, and it makes it awkward for users to navigate and simply change their profile! There is clicking on their profile picture to take them to their profile, the members area and clicking above the log out button ’my profile’ Just create one profile page which is easy to use and appears from all links to it!
Username displayed on your screen should be the same as your username
Unique Usernames
Users should be able to make groups (private messaging groups, not just involving 2 people)

WE NEED LEVELS! WHERE USERS CAN LEVEL UP BY DOING CERTAIN THINGS ON THE SITE! ADMINS SHOULD BE ABLE TO SET A USERS LEVEL, XP NEEDED TO THE NEXT LEVEL, HOW MANY LEVELS THERE ARE, HOW TO GET XP AND HOW MUCH XP IS NEEDED FOR THE NEXT LEVEL!

What is the issue here?

4) In addition to the 'following' feature. Number of friends could be added to your profile.
6) Wix Shoutouts. I purchased premium from wix, and I don't want to buy something else. It's unfair + lies. Also, sending a message from your Wix Inbox (unless this has been updated I'm not sure)
9) Yes! The cards currently are wayyyy too big. What user will scroll down that far to see all of my categories?
10) When a user signs up, they will have profile % completed. % will go up when profile is complete, example - profile picture.
14) As in, information is not all on the same page. To edit the username you see, you have to go to your profile page via a certain route. To edit your public username, you have to go a different way. Same with private information etc.
15) You have your public username and then the username you see on your screen only. The one that is public should be displayed on your own screen also. If you have a badge / admin / moderator role or something special this should also be added.
18) Roles - Volunteers from the community, admin, moderator. Badges - public figure, verified, sponsored, and a few more that can be added from the admin's account...

Also, the new widget for trending most liked etc, I don’t like that when you’re not signed in it says ‘join the conversation’ ‘be the first to create a new post and start discussion’ as this is not a category
I would like the posts included in this widget to be shown when you’re not signed in, but you can only click on them to visit them and read them fully if you sign up.

I completely agree with navanuppal. The Forum NEEDS features like those mentioned above by navanuppal to simplify and perfect the Wix Forum. I am very pleased to see Wix taking our ideas and incorporating them into the forum. Hopefully we’ll be seeing the ideas mentioned above on the Wix Forum soon.

In general, we can conclude that the Wix Forum should be 100% customizable to allow the admin to customize their forum exactly the way they want it. A completely customizable forum would allow for so many more options.

Preach!! I completely agree, I'm glad Wix is working on these features, but hopefully we get them faster :)
This is a very competitive list and hopefully Wix will pay attention to all of it!
Most of us are using Wix as a stepping stone to then move to other platforms simply because of two reasons - the list of features mentioned here and speed!

Are you the single developer of the Wix Forums platform or do you simply handle the communications? Hopefully this is ok for you to answer as this is important for us to know so we can take certain factors into consideration.
