Hi all,
I'm proud to say, you can now easily create sub categories in your forums!

And there is more to that, you can now manage all your categories from the live site!
Here's how:
Go to your published site
Click on the new 'Manage Categories' icon
Now you can manage your categories (reorder, edit, delete, create new)
And of course, you can now make any category a subcategory and create new categories easily.

You can also do it from the Forum app settings in the Editor.

Let us know what you think - and share with us your forums :)
When I saw the old style forums I thought it must be close - oh my gosh I’m so excited!!! Yay, yay, yay!!!!
Nice ... but when Private messaging and group chat ? Hahaha))
Hey Wix Team,
The new subcategory feature is awesome. It will be now also nice if we can add separate moderators and admins to these categories and subcategories. And it would be visually better if the comment box size is little lesser than the main post to visually distinguish between the two.
I will be even more happier if I can also add multiple forum apps on a single domain to simulate a sub sub category. :)
Thanks
It took a while, but I'm really glad this is here & I appreciate it. Thank you guys for implementing this, it will help a lot!
Janettee - I'm happy you're happy :) I know you waited long time for that!
Dr. Yannick - More feature will follow, subcategories is a huge change - I guess you're happy for that :)
nithinpadand - We're thinking to allow more customization on this field of categories and moderators, stay tuned :)
Trav - happy that you're happy - share your forum with us :)
Great news! well done
Danish would be nice 👍🏼
Useful. Tx
woohoo!!! Thank You so much!! ))
Subcategories also support languages now :)
Really need to be able to move individual comments to other categories.
Great updates, guys but I think there's a problem - I believe latest posts sidebox does not get updated when new comment is added to a sub-category?
not possible to edit category from mobile , only desktop
When posting in sub-categories, the post counter does not increase for the primary page which can make the initial forum landing look empty.
2 Questions:
1) Is there a way to get the parent category to reflect the post of it's sub-categories?
2) Would we be able to setup multiple forums to better organize content?
Thanks for the hard work and help!
Amazing! thanks!!
I too have the issue of the main forum not updating the count for sub-forums, but otherwise I really love it! I do think it would be cool to choose which parent forums can have posts added and which can't, as some of them are more for organization and I'd rather not have to move posts all day long LOL.
Great news!
category search and add new category by member is needed more
Is it possible to add options in which we will be able to set which users will be able to access which category in the forum? This will be useful because we will be able to set some categories private. Another option is to allow installation of additional forum app on the website so that access to each of these forums can be set for different users.
